Household chores, children, pursuing a career on the side, and finding time for self-care: mothers are under particular pressure in our society.
Starting in March 2027, the special exhibition MAMA at the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden will explore the question: What is it like to become or be a mother today? Because one thing is clear: motherhood ultimately affects us all—as children, parents, or as part of society. Based on the exhibition of the same name presented at the Kunstpalast Düsseldorf in 2025, the exhibition will feature everyday objects, pop culture videos, and interactive infographics on the topic, as well as historical works of art and contemporary works by young artists.
